Lesson 14 Rocks and Soils: Weathering and Erosion

Welcome back!

So now you know more about rocks and soils. But now let’s get into how rocks and soils can be affected by the elements. You have likely heard the adults in your life talk about trying to prevent erosion in your yard, like when they are planting a garden or when a heavy rain comes through. Today, we will examine two vocabulary words that talk about how rocks and soils are impacted by the environment: erosion and weathering.

 

Use the digital poster as a reference for building that vocabulary. Then take a look through the slideshow so that you can see more ways that weathering and erosion look and occur all over the planet before you work on today’s assignment.
