Phenomenon Introduction

Have you ever found a really cool rock while you were outside on the playground? What about when you went to play in a creek or at the beach? Then you probably know that rocks can look very different depending on where you’re finding them or seeing them.

Look at the two rocks below. You probably notice that they look very different from each other!

Check out the questions that go with the pictures and answer them on the discussion board.

Assignment

For our assignment today, you will respond to a discussion post from these questions:

  • Rock observations:

    • Looking at the first rock, what are 3 ways you would describe it?
    • Looking at the second rock, what are 3 ways you would describe it?
    • Are the ways you described these 2 rocks at all the same? What did you notice that was different about them?
