Lesson 19 Habitats: Adaptations Plants

Hello again!

We just learned about 4 very important animal adaptations. But did you know that plants have adaptations to help them survive in their unique environments?

Ask yourself this: Do you think that plants and animals would have the same kinds of adaptations? For example: Could a tree migrate to a different state when the seasons change? Could a wildflower hibernate for the winter?

Below, you’ll see examples of plants in Georgia that have adaptations to help them survive where they live in our state.

  2. Why would these plants thrive in this region instead of another, like the Appalachian Plateau?
  3. The pitcher plant is considered to be carnivorous. What did you learn about the pitcher plant that makes it carnivorous?
