Workplace Safety: Identifying & Reducing Safety Hazards

The risk of injury or harm exists in our homes, at our schools, and at our work sites as well. Healthcare professionals are required to possess an awareness of safety risks and secure the risks or remove them as soon as they have been identified.

The key measure to reducing safety hazards is to practice preventive measures before safety risks occur. When we think of safety, the focus may initially be on patient safety but safety is not exclusively for the patient. We must shift the safety focus to the family, visitors, and workers in the healthcare facility as well

Environmental Safety

Providing a safe environment is a key factor in risk reduction. Identify the policy and procedure guidelines for the facility and follow the agency's recommendations.
