Emerging Issues

Epidemiology is the study of health and disease in human populations. Epidemiologists are considered Disease Detectives because just as a criminal detective investigates a crime scene and identifies clues to find the suspect, these professionals investigate disease occurrences to identify possible causes.

In other words, an epidemiologist COUNTS.
