Attraction isn't only about looks, although physical appearance plays a key role in a person's perception. Attraction or attractiveness forms the basis of all human relationships. We are attracted to our romantic partners, but also to our co-workers and friends. Attraction is an essential part of what motivates people.

Learn about the factors of attraction in the presentation below.

Love

According to psychologists, there are two types of love: passionate love and companionate love. Passionate love is short in duration and arousal is the key ingredient. It is intense and enhances emotion. Compassionate or companionate love on the other hand is a deep affection or attachment for those with whom we share our lives. Compassionate love is the reason arranged marriages work. There is a partnership, and both receive in proportion to what they give. This type of love also leads to self-disclosure in which we will reveal intimate details about ourselves to our partner.
