SPY - Social Psychology Module Overview
Module Overview
Introduction
Social psychology is not sociology. Sociology examines institutions in our society that impact our behavior, like religion and government. Social psychology is the scientific study of how we think about, influence, and relate to one another. It is still about the individual but looks at how we interpret, perceive, and are influenced by others. You are going to investigate many experiments in this unit well-known to the psychology world. Hold on...this is getting good!!
Upon the conclusion of this unit, you will have knowledge about three major social psychology studies and their analysis of human behavior. An additional study will investigate the world of prejudice and discrimination. You will be able to identify factors that lead to this phenomenon and ponder ways to change human behavior for the good.
Essential Question:
- How does the bias of a researcher affect their conclusion?
