SAP - Sensation and Perception Module Overview
Module Overview
Introduction
Which of your senses do you consider the most important for day-to-day survival? Have you ever wondered what life would be like without it? Ever thought about how your senses work? Well, based upon the content you mastered in the neuroscience and behavior unit you can deduce that your brain plays a key role. You will learn about sensation first and then perception, allowing you to understand the dependency of the two on one another. Upon the conclusion of this unit, you will have mastered content pertaining to sensation and perception, understanding the exact processes of bottom-up and top-down processing. This acquired knowledge will focus on the composition of multiple human senses and their interaction with the brain. In addition, you will be able to identify various forms of ESP and explain why most research psychologists remain skeptical of ESP claims.
