CFG: Lesson - Creating a Game
Creating a Game
Are you ready to implement what you have learned? Are you ready to see your plans come alive on the gaming platform? I am ready to see your greatness!
As stated in the first lesson, one great tool that you can utilize is the game development platform named Scratch. Scratch is a programming language and online platform developed by the MIT Media Lab that allows users to create interactive stories, animations, games, and simulations. Scratch uses a block-based visual programming interface, which means that students can drag and drop different programming blocks to create their games. This makes it easier for students to understand programming concepts such as loops, conditionals, and variables.
To get started with Scratch, students can follow the step-by-step tutorials available on the platform or create their own projects from scratch. In terms of game development, Scratch provides students with a wide range of tools to create different types of games, from puzzles to action games. Students can add different characters and sprites, create backgrounds, add sounds and music, and even use the platform's built-in physics engine to create realistic movements and interactions.

Review the Elements of Game Design
One last review before we move on: re-watch the video from your previous lesson on Game Design. Again, we've already watched this video, but now is a good time to watch it again to review some of the main elements of design that you should consider when creating a game.
