Creating a Website
Introduction
The ability to create your ideas and manifest your thoughts in a way that engages others is a gift. Web design provides a platform to communicate in a multifaceted way (i.e. text, images, videos, audio, interactive, etc.). Through project-based learning, students will learn about the steps of web page development and demonstrate their understanding by creating a web page.
Module Lessons Preview
In this module, we will study the following topics:
An Introduction to HTML: Understanding how to make things appear on a nonexistent or blank screen has been the gateway for many into a creative universe with few limitations…the universe of computer science. In this lesson, students will learn the creative language of the web and the fundamentals of web page design.
HTML Vocabulary: Within the HTML introduction, we will become familiar with the language and tags required to create a web page.
Good vs. Great: Students will continue to develop an understanding of how to distinguish quality in web design.
Create a Website: Students will learn about web development in order to create their own website.
Communicate, Collaborate, and Celebrate: Students will learn about the importance of reflection as a tool in the web developer's tool belt.
