MM - 2D and 3D Models Lesson

2D and 3D Models Lesson

Two-dimensional models are "flat" and only show 2 out of the 3 dimensions that exist in real space.  As you may have guessed, three-dimensional models show an additional dimension so you can see length, width and height.  There are many applications for these models but the most common application is in construction.  Models of building structures help the project manager estimate materials, cost, and functionality.  We are going to look at both 2D and 3D models of residential homes. These are also called "floor plans." Depending on the purpose of the model they may include measurements, doors, windows, plumbing, electrical or even furniture.
