Programs Used to Design Games Module Overview
A good user interface design allows the user to easily and intuitively complete tasks. In this module the student will learn the basic design principles for a user interface, the elements of a user interface and compare and contrast software for usability and preference. The student will also examine different game engines and use one to design a game.

Key Terms
- Instance - An instance is a copy of the object.
- Object - Objects are entities in the game that do things. They have a state and a behavior.
- Sprite - A sprite is defined as a two-dimensional image or animated image that plays a specific role, often independently manipulated, within a larger image environment.
- Usability - How effectively, efficiently and satisfactorily a user can interact with a user interface.
- User-Centered Design (UCD) - An approach to designing the user interface of a product or service in which the end user is placed in the center of the process.
- User Interface - The User Interface (UI) is the space where interactions between humans and machines occur.
- User Testing - Usability testing includes a range of test and evaluation methods to identify issues that keep users from meeting the usability goals of the software.
