If you have written any programs, games and apps for fun in the past, you probably jumped right into building the program. Developers in the real world use a systematic process called the Software Development Life Cycle to ensure the product meets the needs of the end user and for quality control. In this module you will be able to describe the typical stages in the software development life cycle analyze different models used in industry. Later you will apply one of these models in designing your own game or app in future modules.

There are many development life cycle models that have been developed in order to achieve different required objectives. The models specify the various stages of the process and the order in which they are carried out.
