Advanced Website Features

Introduction

We have come a long way in our web design journey! We now are ready to learn some of the more advanced features in web development. You have learned to make some basic sites, but in this lesson, you will learn some of the ways to make your site pop! You want your site to be interesting to your visitors, in this module, you'll learn to do that with some advanced layout methods and how to put tables and forms on your site. Additionally, you will learn some JavaScript, which is a major computer programming language, and you'll learn to enhance your sites with audio and video. After this module, you'll be well on your way to be able to create professional looking sites!

Key Terms

Flexbox | A layout format that allows you to layout your site using columns and rows. The items flex to fill in additional space and shrink to fit into smaller spaces.

CSS Float | A layout format that uses the CSS float property to move elements to the right or the left.

Bootstrap | A layout format that uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create responsive websites.

W3.CSS| A modern framework created to be responsive to various devices.

JavaScript | A scripting language that you can use on the front-end and back-end of a website to create dynamic websites.

Multimedia | A communication tool that uses a combination of several forms of media, including text, audio, images, animations, and/or video into a single presentation.
