And the Winner is...

One benefit of participating in a Career and Technical Student Organization is the opportunity to compete and win. For FBLA, it all begins with region competition, then moves from there to state and national levels. Let's follow a GAVS student as she attends and competes at the FBLA 2013 National Conference in Anaheim, California.

The benefits of competition and winning are numerous. You test your limits, you strive to do your best, and these challenges alone help you to grow. Competition gives you the opportunity to meet people and make friends that you would never have known otherwise. You also bring recognition to yourself, your school, your town, and your state. Preparing to compete with FBLA begins with reviewing the FBLA Competitive Events Guidelines. A copy of the guidelines appears in the sidebar.

If you prefer to compete only against yourself, another way to gain recognition through FBLA is through the Business Achievement Awards or BAA. These awards consist of four levels: Future, Business, Leader, and America. Each level has prescribed activities that must be completed in order to receive the award. The BAA award winners are recognized at the state and national level.
