A wide range of laws affect businesses. Businesses are protected by the law in the event of crimes against them. Other parts of the law that affect businesses are contract law, property laws, computer law, and financial law. Businesses must also be aware of rules and regulations affecting them such as licensing and permit requirements.
The largest body of law to affect business is employment law. Human resource professionals have to be well versed in laws that pertain to equal employment opportunity, general worker rights, and common case law that refers to such things as fraud and defamation.
A staffing plan is an important tool to use in determining the right number and kind of employees a company needs. A well-drawn plan assures that a company will get the highest quality of employee available at the time. A staffing plan and a recruiting plan cover the job application process from the company side.
