(CRAED) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator Module Overview
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator Module Overview
In the last unit, we looked at ways in which we can prepare for the occurrence of a natural disaster or catastrophic event. We looked at organizations in place to provide assistance and aid. In this unit, we are going to learn the steps necessary to deliver CPR and basic first aid in accordance with the American Heart Association. When performed correctly, the information that you learn from this unit can help you save lives of victims in cardiac arrest. This course includes adult, child, and infant techniques.
Essential Questions
- How do you recognize a cardiac emergency?
- What conditions may cause a cardiac emergency?
- What is the Cardiac Chain of Survival and how is it implemented?
- What are the steps for performing CPR for an infant, child and adult?
- How does a citizen responder use an AED for fibrillation?
