(CD) Who Are You!?! Lesson
Who Are You !?! Lesson
Before we learn about other cultures, let's start with you.
- Contact the oldest person on your dad's side of the family still living. Find out what country your family came from. Get all the family names they know - particularly from your grandmother's side. List names and origins on a sheet of paper.
- Contact the oldest person on your mom's side of the family still living. Find out what country your family came from. If they do not know, then get the family names. List names & origins on a sheet of paper
- Take some of the family names you have found and enter them into Google. Type in a name then "genealogy" and take a look at what comes up. Some family names have entries in Wikipedia - type your family name then "(name)" or "(surname)" after your family name to see what comes up in Wikipedia.
- Choose some of the countries your family heritage is from and research those cultures. Take notes for the assignment.
Note: if you are not able to access one side or both of your family, see teacher for alternatives
