Day 14 Economics: Natural Resources
Natural Resources
Welcome to the first day of learning about economics!
What is economics? It is the study of how goods and services are produced, distributed, and consumed. That is a much fancier way of saying “it’s about making stuff and selling it”.
In order to understand economics a little better, let’s start with where all this stuff comes from: resources. You can’t make an iPhone without plastic, metal, and glass. But you also need a machine to help put it together, a person who runs that machine, another person who fixes the machine, and yet another person who runs the entire factory of machines. So let’s take a few days to talk about each kind of resource to understand how all this “stuff” gets made.
Today, we will look at natural resources. First, you will look at the digital poster that has the 4 types of resources. Just focus on the natural resources section of it. Then complete the image choice activity to check your understanding.
