Day 2 Government: Responsibilities of the 3 Branches of Government: Executive

Responsibilities of the 3 Branches of Government: Executive

Hello again!

Now that we have talked about the rights and responsibilities of the citizens of the United States, let’s talk about the responsibilities of the government. The government is broken up into 3 main levels so that no one level has more power than the others. They call this checks and balances

Today, we will look at the first level, which is called the Executive Branch. This is the branch led by the President.

You have two resources to get you started on learning the 3 branches. The first is a digital poster that includes all three branches of government. You just need to read about the Executive Branch today. Then you have another PBS video to watch. It introduces you to all three branches. When you are done with those resources, complete the Image Choice interactive to check for understanding.
