Introduction

Bonjour!

Today’s explorer (as you might have guessed from the greeting) is French! Jacques Cartier is the only explorer from France that we will study. He was led on expeditions down a major river in North America by native people in the area he reached. You will read in your research as to which country it was where he explored and met the native people.
