Day 10 Individuals, Groups, and Institutions
Individuals and Groups: What are your responsibilities?
Introduction
As a student you have many responsibilities. These responsibilities may look different in your home, at school, in your community, and for yourself. Sometimes those responsibilities overlap and look the same in those different areas. Today we will make a Venn Diagram and look at different responsibilities in two areas of your life. We will note the differences and the similarities using the diagram.

Use this video to learn how to set up your diagram and get started.
Assignment
1) Grab your social studies notebook or a piece of paper and let’s make a Venn Diagram. Review the video above on how to draw your Venn Diagram.
2) When you finish drawing your Venn Diagram, you will label your headings:
Heading 1 - Classroom
Heading 2 - Home
3) You will list your responsibilities at home, under the HOME heading. And then you will list your responsibilities at school, under the SCHOOL heading.
4) See any similarities? Is there a responsibility you have at home that is the same as a responsibility you have at school? List any responsibility that you have both at school and at home, in the middle where the circles overlap (see example below)
