Day 139: Planning Our Nonfiction Writing

Introduction

Hello boys and girls. Today we are starting nonfiction writing.  Nonfiction or informational writing includes facts about a topic.  Today you are going to plan your nonfiction writing by picking a topic and writing facts about that topic.  Watch the video below to see how to get started.

Look at each sentence and decide if it is written correctly.  If it is written correctly, click on correct.  If it is not written correctly, click on incorrect.

Assignment

Now it is time for you to pick a topic for your nonfiction writing. Once you have your topic, write it on the nonfiction web or create your own web.  Then write four facts about your topic.  Then submit your assignment.  Make sure to keep your web, so you can use it for the next writing time.

  1. Print the nonfiction web Download nonfiction web or create your own.
  2. Pick a topic and write it in the center circle.
  3. Write 4 facts about the topic on the web.
  4. Take a picture of your finished web.
  5. Make sure to keep your web for the next writing assignment.
