Day 7: Sorting and Classifying

Introduction

What are some other ways that we can sort objects?  We know that we can sort by color, shape and size, but are there other ways?  What about your clothes?  You can sort them by season.  Heavy coats in the winter and swim suits in the summer.  Sweaters and scarfs in the winter and shorts and t-shirts in the summer.  Let’s keep working on sorting and explaining how we sort today.

Activity

In your math journal: Find some of your clothes that you may wear in different seasons.  How can you sort your clothes?  Draw a picture in your math journal and put them into groups.
