Day 19: Addition and Subtraction Review

Introduction

Today we will review subtraction story problems.  Subtraction is the opposite of addition.  When we add we put two sets or groups together.  We have also learned that this is composing numbers.  When we subtract, we take away a set or a group from another. This is also called decomposing numbers.  After watching the video, practice writing a story problem for a subtraction problem in your math journal.

In your math journal: Practice creating story problems for subtraction.  Write them in your math journal and draw a picture to match.  Share this with a family member.
