Day 11: Composing and Decomposing Numbers

Introduction

Yesterday, we began to work with decomposing 10.  This is the opposite of composing a group of ten.  Decomposing means to break apart a group.  We can break apart ten in many ways.  Ten can be broken into 0 and 10, 1 and 9, 2 and 8, 3 and 7, 4 and 6, 5 and 5, 6 and 4, 7 and 3, 8 and 2, 9 and 1, and 10 and 0.  Today we will continue to practice decomposing 10.
