Day 9: Composing and Decomposing Numbers 

Introduction

How many ways can you make 10?  Yesterday we talked about ways to make 10, but there was one way missing.  Do you know which way it was?  If you said zero, you are right.  We listed ways to make ten, but you can also use zero to make ten.  If we have nothing and add ten, we would get 10.  If we have 10 of something and add zero, we would also get ten!  Sometimes zero gets forgotten about, but it is still a quantity.
