Day 3: Understanding Subtraction

Introduction

How have you used subtraction at home this week or when you are playing with your friends?  Maybe you were at the park and there were four swings and four kids.  You had to wait for one kid to leave so that you could swing.  That is using both subtraction and addition.  We use addition and subtraction all the time!  Today you will work on another story problem.  We will complete one together and you will solve the other in your math journal and share your solution on Flip.
