Day 13: Understanding Subtraction

Introduction

Let’s review what subtraction means.  When we subtract, we take away from a group.  If I have 5 apple slices and I eat two slices, I have subtracted apple slices.  I can write that like this:  Five apple slices minus two apple slices equals three apple slices.  The word minus means subtract just like plus means the same as add.
