Helping verbs are verbs that come before the main verb in the sentence.

Reasons and Evidence in Informational Texts

Introduction

Hi Readers! When we are reading nonfiction or informational texts, we need to pay attention to the author's point and the reasons to support that point.

Today, we will be expanding on our lesson. We will write sentences that support an author's point using keywords and phrases.

Author's give reasons to support their ideas. 
Examples: 
Spring is the best time of year because there are flowers and it ti warmer.
Reading is a wonderful subject. One reason is that you can use your imagination while reading books.
