Day 21 British Colonial: Slaves and Native Americans

Slaves and Native Americans

Hello again!

Today, we look into two roles in the early American colonies that were seen as less than human and treated as such. Wealthy landowners couldn’t make a profit without the unpaid labor of slaves, and colonists’ survival so often depended on the knowledge of the Natives knowing the land that was being stolen from them. Both of these groups of people suffered through much worse than mistreatment, and there was nothing they could do to improve their lives as the colonists took over the eastern seaboard. Read on to learn more about slaves and the Native Americans for your next two sections of your digital research project.
