Repaso de Español

Introduction

Repaso de Español graphic with images of people in different occupations.¡Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español IV B!

We will be spending this semester looking into different career pathways. We will also explore the benefits of knowing a second language in the workforce. Although at first, it is daunting, the more time you spend studying, being exposed to, and using the Spanish language, the more fluent you'll become. As your language skills continue to develop in all areas: reading, writing, and speaking, you'll experience improvement. Practice in these areas is the key to language learning. Becoming fluent in the language opens thousands of different opportunities for an individual: it enhances job skills and makes you more desirable in the job market, immerses you in the colorful array of cultures among the 21 Spanish-speaking nations, and allows you to communicate with the over 500 million individuals in the world who speak Spanish. With practice and dedication, your world will grow.

We are going to begin our Spanish IV semester course with new vocabulary and a review of some basic grammar concepts that you should have learned in the previous three Spanish courses. Language learning is a building process and GAVS builds on prior knowledge as we move on into the fourth year of language study. It is strongly recommended that you refer to the sites and the presentations in the sidebars as a way to incorporate previously learned material.

¡Buena suerte!
