(AGI) - La Ciencia Agrícola Module Overview

La Ciencia Agrícola

Introduction

En este próximo módulo, vamos a explorar las carreras en el campo de las ciencias de la agrícola.

In this module, we will be continuing our research with the Agricultural Science career pathway. We will also explore the benefits of knowing a second language in this workforce.

Georgia has a very successful agricultural industry with tremendous opportunities. We will explore these fields more in-depth over the next several days at the same time that we build on our language skills. As your skills continue to develop in all areas: reading, speaking, and listening, you'll experience overall improvement. Practice in these areas is the key to language learning. As you take the time to consider this career pathway, it is important to note that Georgia Virtual School has several courses to help introduce you to possible Agricultural Science pathways. Make sure to take a look at the CTAE course catalog when you have a chance and explore your options there. We will also be using some resources provided by the Georgia Department of Education.

Before we begin, let's make sure that we understand this career path and how we can make a career in this field. Here is an introduction to the agricultural industry from the Georgia Farm Bureau.

One in seven Georgians works in agriculture, forestry, or related fields. Georgia is perennially the number one state in the nation in the production of peanuts, broilers or chickens, pecans, blueberries, and spring onions. No matter which part of our state you visit, you’ll see some form of agricultural production. The state’s forest industry accounts for a total economic contribution to Georgia’s economy of $17.7 billion and supports more than 73,300 jobs in Georgia. We have more commercial forest land than any other state.
