Trabajos de Finanzas Module

Introduction

Los Trabajos De Finanzas Module. Graphic with finance icons.¡Vamos a empezar el tercer módulo! - Los trabajos de finanzas.

In this module, we will be continuing our research into the financial career pathway. We will also explore the benefits of knowing a second language in this workforce. What are some financial professions in today's world? There are careers in banking that would give an immediate advantage to a Spanish-speaking candidate versus a candidate that does not speak Spanish. The ability to assist customers in more than one language shows strengths in your skill set that not all employees have. You may remember our look into the language skills gap in various careers in the US. 9 out of 10 employers report that they rely on employees with language skills other than English.

There are also several international careers in this pathway that would ultimately require the knowledge of a second language, such as accountant, analyst, or even real estate agent! Yes, many individuals with a finance background work in real estate- both as agents and as lenders. We will explore these fields more in-depth over the next several days at the same time that we build on our language skills. As your skills continue to develop in all areas: reading, writing, and listening, you'll experience overall improvement. Practice in these areas is the key to language learning.

Essential Questions

  1. What are possible careers in finance?
  2. How can we use Spanish in these financial careers?
  3. How do we use the conditional tense to relay messages of "would" in Spanish?
