(ATPT) Becoming Familiar with Elements and the Periodic Table Lesson
Becoming Familiar with Elements and the Periodic Table
Before we dive in any further to investigating trends and patterns of the periodic table, take some time to explore specific elements and their characteristics. There are a number of websites that can be used to view elements, how they react in nature, their history, how it is currently used, and more. The most comprehensive place to start exploring elements, is the Royal Society of Chemistry's interactive periodic table. It features history, alchemy, podcasts, videos, and data trends across the periodic table.
If you like watching experiments to learn about elements, check out the compilation of videos for each element that The University of Nottingham has compiled. You can either watch the videos through their website or on their YouTube channel. You might enjoy them so much and get carried away that you watch all 118 videos! Another great site to check out is WebElements. You can choose each element to learn all sorts of information! You can even see the elements name translated in various languages.
