(HACF) Handwriting Analysis and Computer Forensics Module Wrap Up
Module Wrap Up
Summary
In forensic document examination, the goal is to match the author to a document in question. There are many different types of questioned documents, and thus many approaches. Often it involves obtaining known samples of writing to compare to a questioned document, as well as looking for other clues such as indented writing of significance. In an increasingly digital world, many of the handwritten questioned documents of yesterday have become typed documents or files on a device capable of saving data. This huge change necessitated the development of a new branch of forensics known as computer forensics. Computer Forensics focuses on data retrieval, decryption and other methods of identifying data and its author.
