Organelles Lesson

Nucleus, cytoplasm and cell membrane are the most important features of a cell. Image of cell.In the early 1930s, the electron microscope was invented. Electron microscopes use beams of tiny electrons instead of light to magnify the image of objects.

The resolution and magnification of an electron microscope is better than the light microscopes used by Hooke and Leeuwenhoek.

The electron microscope allows scientists to view the tiny structures within a cell called organelles. Each organelle has a specific function to carry out within the cell.

What constitutes a Cell?
