(IES) Science Safety Lesson

Science Safety - Priority One!

When doing experiments, it is important to always remember certain safety rules to keep yourself and others safe, as well as the surrounding area. Always ask an adult to supervise the experiment. In case there are difficulties with the experiment or if anything goes wrong, they can help to fix it. Don't forget personal safety.

Standard Safety Tips

  • Secure long hair to the back of your head so that it will not fall in the way.
  • When working with chemicals protect your eyes and skin by wearing goggles, gloves and a lab coat.
  • Wash your hands after conducting an experiment.
  • Use common sense.
  • Do not point a heated test tube towards you or another person.
