Now that you know how to set up and format an MLA paper, it is time to start writing. However, we first need to review the basics of constructing a thesis statement and mention common mistakes to avoid.

Building the Thesis Statement

In order to begin writing your paper, you must first construct a thesis statement. You will construct a thesis connected to the novel, The Giver. Your thesis should be centered on one of the themes from the novel (memories or influences).
