(WWA) Transitions in Essays Lesson

Transitions in Essays Lesson

Good transitions are important in all writing, but especially in expository essays. Transitions move the essay, and reader, from one point to the next. Without transitions, an essay will be choppy and difficult to follow. Transitions can be used within a paragraph to move from point to point, as well as at the beginnings and ends of paragraphs to move from one section to the next. The image below displays transitional words and phrases.
