Introduction

Poetry is a creative form of expression which gives a writer the opportunity to express his/her thoughts in a more concise form. Some poems have a rhyme scheme while others are written in free verse. Poems can be written in a variety of styles including narrative, free verse, dramatic, and lyric. In this module, you will learn more about the different styles of poetry as well as how to effectively analyze poetry.
