Introduction

On the right is a plate called authority, with the weights duties and responsibilities.What makes a good citizen? What does it mean to have a good character? These questions will be answered as you complete the readings and assignments in this module. It is important for all members of society to be good citizens and to demonstrate character, and this entire unit will focus on this particular theme.

Key Terms

  1. Citizen: An inhabitant of a city or town and is entitled to the rights and privileges of that particular area.
  2. Citizenship: The character of an individual viewed as a member of society; behavior in terms of the duties, obligations, and functions of a citizen.
