Lesson Topic 3: Narrative Writing
Narrative writing enables writers to tell a story of an experience or an event while holding the reader's interest. Narrative writing usually includes the following:
- Written in first or third person
- Includes characters, setting, and plot
- May include some dialogue
- Events are organized in chronological order (although flashbacks may be used)
Narrative writing tells a story. A personal narrative tells the true story of something that happened to you.
