Burning Bridges: What History Has Taught Us - Writing

Introduction

The writing checklist: 1. Choose a topic 2. Write your thesis 3. Find sources and take notes 4. Create and outline 5. Write the rough draft 6. Edit 7. Final draftWe use different types of writing in order to effectively communicate with one another. Persuasive writing is necessary when you are trying to get your point across to an audience. Expository writing is important if you are trying to explain something to someone or are providing instructions to someone. In this module, you will focus on comparison/contrast writing which is an effective way to consider the similarities and differences between two subjects. Furthermore, you will be introduced to the research process and your first research paper. Good luck!
