The idea is to learn from the mistakes of past generations, and authors who write about major historical events and time periods help us to do just that. This unit will give you the opportunity to learn about a major historical event called the Civil Rights movement. You will also read the book Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred Taylor which explores the racial injustice present in our country during the time period of the Civil Rights movement.   Please locate a copy of this novel as soon as possible.
