What is a Gerund?
A gerund is a verb that ends in -ing but is used as a noun. Therefore, gerunds might often look like verbs, but they are actually nouns.
Example: I enjoy golfing.
Golfing is being used as a noun. Golfing is a sport, so it is a "thing."
Example: I love to hear her singing.
Singing is being used as a noun. Singing is considered a "thing" in this sentence.
