SOC: Lesson - Using Code.org's App Lab

Using Code.org's App Lab

It’s finally time to put what we have learned so far into action. To complete certain activities in this course, it will be important to use a particular programming tool from Code.org called App Lab.

This lesson will set us off on our adventure into App Lab. You will learn how to interact with the interface of App Lab in order to design, create, and edit apps. During our exploration, you will learn about different terms such as events, usability, and debugging. No worries, App Lab is designed with the independent learner in mind. There are video tutorials and fun activities designed to help you learn and create. During the next few lessons, you will see some practice activities, based on what you are doing in the App Lab introduction. Check your progress by completing these practice activities.

App Lab - Practice Activity 01

Head over the Code.org's App Lab Introduction Links to an external site.. You do not have to create an account to complete this activity. Complete exercises 1-4 (be sure to watch the introductory video before starting!) in the Intro to App Lab activity, which is about setting properties.

How did it go? Were you able to complete the activities? If so: congratulations - you did some programming in this activity!

Use the practice activity below to answer some basic questions about App Lab and your experience with it.
