Algorithms

Now that we have reviewed the word process, we can discover if this skill and ability has a different name in a different setting. Watch the video that dives deeper into what an algorithm is.

Algorithms and You

We use and respond to algorithms every day. When you are told to finish your homework or take out the trash, you have been given an algorithm. Even if you are not directly instructed to do a task, by completing that task, you have implemented an algorithm.

What specific inputs led you to taking out that trash? Likely, you have an internalized algorithm which notices that the trashcan is full, and therefore, the trash should be taken out. An algorithm can be as basic as that! From brushing your teeth to preparing a meal, there are many examples of algorithms happening in your daily life.
