BUD - Your Spending Decisions Lesson
Your Spending Decisions
Whether you know it or not, teens make financial decisions everyday. They may go into multiple stores and compare prices for the latest shoes or maybe they save up to buy the new game console that comes out next month. Either way, being able to make a financial decision is a necessary skill in the 21st century.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes a report indicating the inflation rate of the U.S. for each month. Inflation rate shows the prices of goods and services are steadily increasing while salaries have remained constant. This means your money does not buy as much as it did 30 years ago. As a result, it becomes more important than ever to look closely at what we are spending our money on to decide how we can spend it more wisely. No one has unlimited funds, so we must only spend what we have.
