IFL - Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Lesson
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
Preparing for your future is something that you hear you should do from parents, friends and teachers quite regularly. The question is where do you start? One way to begin preparing yourself for the future is getting involved in school and community activities that will give you exposure to experiences that you may not otherwise get. Consider what you can do to make your high school years count positively for you. What can you do during those four years to challenge yourself, acquire leadership skills, learn teamwork, and/or gain new skills and interests?
While you have many options, I would like to recommend Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). FBLA is the largest and oldest student business organization in the world. It is also a co-curricular organization, which means many of the activities align with what you are learning in your business courses. There are FBLA chapters at the middle school, high school, collegiate, and professional levels. In addition, upon joining you will become a member of your local (school) chapter, the state chapter, and the national chapter. All high school members have the opportunity to attend conferences, compete for awards and scholarships, and meet people from all over Georgia (and the country if you make it to nationals)! So if you want to develop your leadership skills and have fun in the process, ask your teacher how to JOIN NOW!
